March 2010:

I can't believe it's March already, how time flies!! Things have been hectic since going to Hove in December and the British Bear Artist Awards, I was really honoured to bring home 3 awards (runner up for "Its Magic" and 3rd place for "Walkies" and "Giddy Up") Then off to San Diego in January (I sound like a real jet setter, but if truth be known I felt more like a zombie afterwards Ive never felt so jet lagged in my life!) but it was very worth the pain as "Giddy up" managed to scoop a Toby Industry choice awards, I was so giddy!! like a big kid. I've always dreamed of winning a Toby, so to get one 2 years in a row - I cant believe it! ***Exciting News*** I am organising a new teddy bear show in Sheffield - After attending Hugglets for years and the shows in the USA I decided we needed a good show up North and so "The Great Yorkshire Teddy Bear Event" will be held in Sheffield on Sunday 21st November 2010, the response from both Artists and Collectors has been fantastic - check out the website for more details; www.thegreatyorkshireteddybearevent.co.uk Big Thanks once again to everyone who came to say Hello at Hugglets Winter Bearfest, lots of happy bears found new homes. It was great to see all the regular faces and many new ones. It shows that the world of Bears is in really good shape!!

August 2009:

I'm still pinching myself and cant believe I won a Toby Industry choice award and went to New York  (check out the article in the next 2 issues of Teddy Bear Times)

Big thanks to EVERYONE who made The Teddy Bear Artist Invitational in Binghampton New York a fantastic show we had a Ball!! Thanks to all the wonderful Artists and Collectors we met and to everyone who gave one of my bears a
new home.

Hattie is wearing her best Easter bonnet I have handmade the bonnet which is covered in tiny flowers needle felted eggs and and a lovely bunny, She is dressed in a beautiful hand knitted yellow dress and is holding tiny Easter Bunny handbag also
handmade by me.

She is made from white long pile miniature bear fabric and has my signature needle felted face with extensive hand shading and needle scuplting her paws are ultra suede and hand painted. She has a hand made nose with my unique diamante - She is a typical Katie Rae Bear - Unique and guaranteed to make you smile!!!
